Lampshades

Can’t Find the Perfect Lampshade?

If you can’t quite find the lampshade you’re looking for, why not have one made just for you?
I’ll work closely with you to design a bespoke lampshade that truly reflects your personality and complements your interior. Together, we’ll choose the perfect frame shape and size, fabric, trims, colours and patterns to create something beautifully unique.

Why Choose a Bespoke Lampshade?

Perfect Proportions

A custom lampshade is designed to fit your lamp base perfectly — ideal for antique, vintage or unusually shaped bases that standard shades just don’t suit.

Creative Freedom

Bespoke design gives you complete creative flexibility, resulting in a one-of-a-kind statement piece made just for your home

Quality Materials

I use carefully selected, high-quality materials to ensure your lampshade is not only beautiful but also durable and long-lasting. I partner with a great range of fabric suppliers who can cater for every taste

The Process

Initial Consultation

We’ll begin with a relaxed chat about the style, shape and overall look you’re hoping to achieve. I’ll then provide an estimate for labour costs (materials excluded at this stage). If you’re happy to proceed, we’ll move on to the design phase.

Design & Fabric Selection

We’ll collaborate on the finer details — selecting the frame, fabric and trims that bring your vision to life. I can send fabric samples for you to see and feel in your own home.

Here is a list of the fabric suppliers I use, so you can check them out and find your perfect fabric

  • Art of the Loom
  • Fibre Naturelle
  • ILIV
  • Linwood
  • Prestigious Textiles
  • Riva Home
  • Sanderson Group
  • Warwick
  • Wemyss

If you’d like to use your own fabric, simply send me a sample and I’ll check its suitability.

Quotation & Timescale

Once your design is finalised, I’ll prepare a detailed quotation along with an estimated completion timescale. Full payment is required before materials are ordered and work begins.

Delivery Options

You’re welcome to collect your finished lampshade in person, or I can arrange insured delivery via Royal Mail or Parcelforce. Delivery costs will be clearly outlined in your quotation.

What style of lampshade suits for you?

The style of the lamp can impact on design of the lampshade. A geometric shade would best suit a lamp with straight defined lines.

Bases with curves, tapers would best suit circular drum lamp shades.

For floor lamps, a bigger shade is normally best. Measure the distance from the light fitting to the base of the lamp and divide by 4. This will give a guide for the height of the shade.

For table lamps the height of the shade should be half the height of the lamp base (from light fitting to the table.

For the diameter (the distance from one side of the ring to the other) of a table lamp should be equal to the height of the lamp base.

For cylinder or cone lampshades it is best to have a diameter that matches the size of the base. They look particularly stylish on floor lamps and taller table lamps.
