“Furniture/Piece” includes mirrors and any other agreed items the artist undertakes to work on.

THE DESIGN

At Ellamental Interiors, every piece is thoughtfully designed in collaboration with the customer.

To ensure the best possible outcome, all design details must be clearly agreed before work begins, including materials, finishes, and placement. Where needed, the artist will guide the process by asking questions to fully understand your preferences.

Fabric, paint, stain, and finish samples can be provided either by post or in person where possible. Customers are encouraged to ask questions, and a free initial consultation (in person, by phone, or online) is recommended.

Changes can be accommodated, but may incur additional costs where extra materials or time are required.

Throughout the process, customers are responsible for reviewing messages, images, and updates carefully, and for raising any questions promptly. This helps ensure the final piece reflects your vision.

Please note:

  • Colours may vary slightly due to screen differences; viewing samples is recommended

  • All work is completed by hand and may include subtle variations such as light brushstrokes

  • Second-hand furniture may retain small signs of age or previous use, which are part of its character

Unless agreed in advance, the artist will not paint:

  • Inside or sides of drawers

  • Backs or undersides of furniture

Workshop visits are welcome by appointment. For safety, visitors are asked to remain within the designated area and avoid handling tools or other items.

BOOKING

A booking is confirmed once:

  • A mutually agreed date is set

  • The deposit has been received

The deposit covers initial materials, time, and (where applicable) collection costs.
Deposits are non-refundable unless the artist needs to cancel the commission.

CANCELLATIONS

The artist reserves the right to cancel a commission in exceptional circumstances, such as long-term illness or inappropriate behaviour.

Where possible, both parties may agree to reschedule a booking. Open communication is encouraged in these situations.

COSTS, PAYMENTS AND DELIVERY

A full quote will be provided based on the agreed design and condition of the item.

If additional work is identified during the process, the artist will contact the customer as soon as possible (typically within the same working day) with details and any additional costs.

Delivery

  • Courier delivery can be arranged on the customer’s behalf

  • Local delivery (within approximately one hour) may be available and will be quoted based on time and fuel

Payment

  • The remaining balance is due on completion, prior to delivery or collection

  • Courier delivery will only be arranged once full payment has been received

Collection

Customers are asked to collect items within 2 weeks of completion.

After this:

  • Furniture: £10 per week storage

  • Lampshades: £5 per week storage

While every care is taken, items stored beyond this period are at the customer’s risk.

After 12 weeks, the artist reserves the right to sell, alter, or responsibly dispose of uncollected items.

RETURNS

Due to the bespoke nature of the work, returns are not accepted.

If adjustments or repairs are required:

  • These can be arranged, with costs agreed in advance

  • Costs are the responsibility of the customer unless damage occurred in transit

For courier deliveries, customers should inspect items immediately upon arrival to support any claims if needed.

AFTERCARE

Aftercare guidance will be provided upon completion.

Please note:

  • Painted and finished surfaces may naturally wear over time, particularly on edges or moving parts

  • Furniture may behave differently depending on environment (e.g. flooring, temperature)

  • Fabrics may fade or wear, especially in direct sunlight

Touch-up paint may be provided where appropriate, and advice on ongoing care products is always available.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Payment of the deposit confirms acceptance of these terms and conditions.
